KHere is a procedure which, when performed, will limit the amount of memory K
Ithat SuperCalc3a (version 1.1) will use and will make it compatible with
larger Ram disks.
MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF YOUR SuperCalc3a /PROGRAM Disk.N
LBoot up a ProDOS disk that will allow you to enter BASIC.SYSTEM and get the D
B"]" prompt. Your BASIC.SYSTEM must be version 1.1 (if PRODOS and P
NBASIC.SYSTEM are the only program files on a disk, boot up will automatically P
Ngive you the Applesoft Basic cursor "]" and the date of the BASIC.SYSTEM will M
Kbe displayed at the top of your screen). Insert your SuperCalc3a /PROGRAM M
Kdisk and enter: PREFIX,S6,D# <CR> where D# equals the drive you are using 3
for modifying SuperCalc3a and <CR> equals Return.
Then enter:
POKE 768,n<CR>.
BSAVE SC3.BIN,A$300,B$39DC,L$1<CR>
If n= then SC memory and /MRAM should 3
limit = not exceed*:/
1 115k 448k/
2 176k 384k/
3 237k 320k/
4 298k 256k/
5 359k 192k/
6 420k 128k/
7 478k 64k
Thanks again for your inquiry.
Sincerely yours,
John H. Kemper
Director of Technical Services
M* The figures in this column are for Ram cards with 512k of memory. If your 9
card exceeds 512k, add the difference to these figures.

MP.S. I have SuperCalc 3a, version 1.07 and the above patch does not work on P
Nit. If you have RAMUP, a menu program for Applied Engineering memory boards, N
Lthe latest version tells you how to partition SuperCalc 3a so it will use a
smaller RAM.
